From the very beginning, rest was woven into the fabric of creation. In the book of Genesis, we see that after six days of creating the world, God Himself rested on the seventh day (Genesis 2:2-3). This wasn't because God was tired, but to set an example for us. Rest was built into the rhythm of life, a divine principle that reminds us that we are not machines; we are human beings with limits.
The Sabbath, a day of rest commanded in Exodus 20:8-10, is more than just a religious observance. It's a reminder that we need to step back, reflect, and recharge. Jesus also emphasised the importance of rest in Mark 6:31, where He tells His disciples, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest." This is a clear indication that rest is not just a physical need but a spiritual one as well.

Therefore, it is important that when we take time to rest, we fully unwind and try to distance ourselves from work and energy draining items.
